Entry Requirements

  • English and Maths at Level 2 OR a Recognised Equivalent
  • A British Sign Language (BSL) qualification is an alternative for English (those whose primary language is BSL).
  • Evidence of Level 3 Qualification
  • Occupational Health Clearance
  • Criminal Record Clearance (UK DBS Check)

How Old do I Need to Be?

Some nursing associate apprenticeships may want a minimum age, however, majority of the time, if the entry requirements are fulfilled that will be okay.

What do I Receive at the End?

Depending on your performance and the company you’re with (private or public) you could continue the role you’re in, advance into another position or use your experience and branch onto something similar. You will receive your Level 5 Nursing Associate (NMC 2018) certificate which will open many other opportunities for your career.

Pay and Benefits

Pay varies on the company you’re with, however, the starting salary is £22,383 – this can increase if you continue working after your apprenticeship to £25,000!

A standard working week will be 37.5 hours, this can consist of night, morning, evening and weekend shifts. Alongside this, you can have access to pension schemes, health service discounts, 27-day annual leave and bank holidays – this can increase if you continue to work alongside the company.
