Our Community Activator Coach apprenticeship is a fantastic opportunity for you to become an effective team leader and provide valuable support to the community. You will be equipped with the specialist knowledge needed become confident in your role to help customers with a more active lifestyle.

What you will learn during your apprenticeship

During your apprenticeship you will:

  • Understand the importance of effective leadership and coaching during physical activity and sports sessions.
  • Understand your role as a coach to develop supportive relationships with customers and know what a good role model looks like.
  • Learn the fundamental principles of safeguarding, child protection, mental well-being. Alongside this you will also develop an understanding of cultural awareness and inclusion.
  • Understand the importance of listening to customers and learning their motivations
  • Learn how to coach and lead successful activity sessions.
  • Understand the importance of using appropriate social media and technology to deliver targeted messages to identified customer groups for example children; teenagers; adults and older adults.

Requirements

Applicants should have completed level 1 English and Maths. Those who do not meet this requirement will need to achieve this as well as take a level 2 English and Maths test before completing the end point assessment.

Duration

The apprenticeship will take 14-18 months to complete.

Professional recognition: On successful completion of the Standard, all Apprentices will be automatically given CIMSPA (Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity) at Affiliate Member level.

After your apprenticeship

Once you have successfully completed your Community Activator Coach apprenticeship, there are plenty of opportunities available to progress in your careers. You will be able to progress into management or leadership roles in your sector. You will have the opportunity to use your knowledge and skills gained through your level 2 apprenticeship to take on new responsibilities and continue work in the community.

Review: The Standard will be reviewed after three years.
