What is a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Commercial Laundry?

A vocational training program designed to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to work in the commercial laundry industry, this type of apprenticeship typically combines on-the-job training with classroom instruction and is aimed at preparing apprentices for a career in various laundry-related roles.

On the Job Training

Apprentices in the program work at commercial laundry facilities, this allows hands-on expierence in multiple operations. These include, learning to operate industrial laundry machines (batch washing machines, wash extractors, dryers, towel folders, ironers), sort and process laundry, complete quality checks and handle different types of fabrics and textiles.

This allows for skill development in various areas, such as laundering techniques, stain removal, quality control and machinery maintenance.

Apprentices will be assigned an experienced mentor within the commercial laundry business who will help them learn the ropes of the industry, address challenges, and offer guidance throughout their training.

Classroom Training
