The Engineering Fitter apprenticeship provides opportunities for an apprentice to produce complex high-value, low-volume components or assemblies in full part. For example, this could be assembling assets for turbines, cranes, gearboxes, production lines, rigs, and platforms. As a fitter, you may be required to interpret drawings/specifications and plan work, therefore, ensuring you have the right tools, equipment and resources to complete the task to the required specification.

Fitters may typically have a mechanical, electrical, electronic, control systems, pipe fitting or instrumentation bias or operate across multiple disciplines depending on the type of assembly. Although normally set by employers, the entry requirements for apprenticeships are typically 5 or more GCSEs.
